Been a while, huh?

Hello everyone! I just realized as I was reading other blogger's rants and wishes from today, that I have my own blog I have ignored for quite some time! Who knew!?
It's good to be here, and be able to update you on what you have missed.
I have been naughty lately. Not crafting as much as I would like, but trying my hardest.
My husband and I, along with my Mom and Dad just got back from a week long vacation in New Jersey. We stayed at the Trump Plaza Hotel in Atlantic City. Right on the boardwalk, and it was beautiful! AC was not really what I expected. I do say it's definitely no Vegas, but the place was beautiful. Our hotel was amazing, and so was the food. I love vacation for the food alone.
This weekend, my sister-in-law and a mutual friend of ours will be throwing a yard sale at my house. We plan to drink silly frozen girly drinks and get a little tipsy all the while manning money and sitting in the sun. I couldn't be happier. I actually plan on crafting a few things Friday during our sitting because my sister-in-law, Beth, will be bringing my 8 year old niece and I found a few fun things online I thought she might enjoy doing in the summer sun. One of the summer fun things I found was this awesome Water blob tutorial by Clumsy Crafter. It's soooo neat!

(This picture is property of Clumsy Crafter.)

I highly recommend you check this out and see what you can do with a clear plastic tarp and duct tape and a lot little water!

I found so many other cool ideas for summer fun. I found one that I think Paige would love.
It's using Mountain Dew and two other household items.
Check out the link to make your own glow bottle!
I found a link to a youtube video that shows you exactly what to do. It even shows them writing on the grass with it!
Check this out here.

Well that's all I have for today. See ya tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of your holiday!

Long, long, LONG time.

So, I know it's been a really, REALLY long time since I have posted ANYTHING on there. Seems lately, all I have time for is creeping through everyone elses blog, or making wreaths. And making wreaths alone is almost a full time job. Especially with Christmas coming up. (So soon, too!)

So on here, I wanted to post a few wreaths. And maybe some tutorials, for the copy cats I have made. I will link up where the credit is due of course!

My favorite wreath I have made so far is a Halloween wreath. And because Halloween is sooo close and spooky, I will show you this one first!
Unfortunately, I did not get any close up shots. But I will tell you, I GLITTERIZED this guy to the extreme. Almost every Dahlia flower and leaf is lined  with glitter. I had sooo much fun making this wreath. And yes, that is definitely Eucalyptus you see there.
I bought this wreath from a store here called Savers. It's like a huge thrift store, with decent prices. A little higher than most, but better quality things. The wreath put me out a whopping $3.99. And I added a few flowers before I spray painted. All in all, the wreath took me several hours out of several days to complete, between spray paint coats and letting the glitter and glue dry. But I love it! I also wrapped some black netting around the back to add to size of it. Otherwise it looked pretty small still. I also hand painted the spiders with Elmer's glue and glittered them as well. And the purple lights I added were from Rite-Aid on their half off deal for Halloween decor. I even picked  up another wreath for the one I am making my niece. They're small but pack a lot of punch.
And all this inspiration came from a wreath I saw here.

That's all for now. I will be back later this week.

New weekend project

So, those two copper colored flour and sugar containers are my next project. Among a few other things. On my way home yesterday, I stopped at our local Valu Home Center. "They have everything you need." (: And while there, I picked up some spray paint and another kind of paint... I can hardly wait to use it!!

Here are a few hints...

I think this door is a great idea!

And this site is amazing!

These will make great birthday/christmas presents!

Stay tuned!

2nd hand shopping!

It's Saturday! And my day is almost over! :(  Good news is, I did some yard/estate sale shopping today and found a ton of treasures! Here are a bunch, if not all my wonderful things I got!

These I got for Dean. A steal for 2/$3... He wanted more but I started to walk away.
And he was a motivated seller!

I got this sign for Dean's man cave! $2! Shh... don't tell him how cheap it was!
These jewelry boxes will come in handy come christmas time for only$.50!

This little trinket box will be nice for keeping my crafting supplies under control...

 I got these two
woodens signs for $.10 each.. I am awesome!

I got this beauty for $.25. I think I will take out the picture seperator
and use this for a scrapbook page frame!
I love to read about the Holocaust. I got this great book for only $.10!!
 Need I say more?

I don't yet know what this is... If you know, please tell me!!
But the base of it is very heavy metal, and it's very old! And beautiful.

 Pretty things... pretty things.

I got two of each of the plates on the left. But only one platter. But I will find something beautiful to do with it!!
I am such a cheeseball. Pun intended. I am originally from Cuba, NY. The Cheese Shoppe in Cuba used to sell these. I found them at at estate sale today. And they even say they are from Cuba! Who could pass these up? I will probably give them to my Dad. He works at the cheese factory for over 30 years! They are so neat!

I got these mirrored frames for $1.00 for the pair!  I usually paint everything that comes into the house. But these will stay this color. They are so antiqued and pretty!

I got these pretties for $3.00 for the pair. I am not 100% sure on what i will do with them, but I am think maybe a sunburst?
This is jewelry set. I really only wanted the dominos for embellishments! Who cares for $.50!
Two scrapbooks and also the refill pages! The estate sale was $5.00 for a small box! I packed that box full of treasures!

I got these two flour and sugar containers at estate sale in the $5 box, too!

This is a pretty vinyl tablecloth I picked up. But honestly I have not even tried to see how big it is. But either way, I have tables it will fit regardless!

Stay tuned to see what I do with some of my wonderful treasures!!

And my love of monograms begins...

I bought this nifty little thing at Marshalls or TJMaxx, not sure which of those. But all I know is it was cheap, and on clearance for like $4 or so? Either way, I wish I had taken a before picture. It was horribly scratched up and a really ugly pink color.

  1. It's honestly not done, and it's leaning up against a bunch of junk, but there it is! (:

I also took a before picture of the keys.. But for the life of me, I cannot find it. Hmph.

And remember how I was painting those frames in this post? Here is what I did with them.
I only took pictures of a few of them.

This buffet? Beautiful isn't it? I have before pictures of this somewhere. This was a rough looking scarred wood piece I found at a yard sale for $25. I snagged that baby quick! My friend Nick and my Dad helped sand it down, and Nick spray painted it bronze/black and added a bunch of new knobs to match the originals.

Isn't this little guy pretty? Driving down the road one day, and I see this! I slammed on my brakes (actually my parents brakes as I was coming back from a day of yard saling with them!) and I pulled in the driveway. Knocked on this guys door and asked to buy it! He was asking $25. I laughed at him and told him the wheel was broken. Walked away with it for $15! What a steal! My dad took the wheel home that night, added 2 new brackets and some glue, and as good as new!

I love these chairs. I found them on overstock.com for about $90 or so a piece. I know, I know. More than I wanted to pay. But seriously! Look at them! This little side of my living room needs help. I am having a bookshelf built to fit this part under the stairs and come around to the other way to house my TV. But that's another day, and ALOT of dollar$!!

Nighty night!
So, here I am again. Another late night ... But I can't help but want to be online, doing SOMETHING. Anything other than sleeping apparently.
I wanted to share some of our projects around the house.. Maybe show you some before and after. Who knows. I just uploaded all my pictures to my computer from the past few months! And I am oober excited!!

May 28th, my sister in law Beth, my friend Loni, and my niece Jordan went to see NKOTBSB. My other sister in law Julie was there, too. But she had rockin' seats, and got to see Dirty Donnie half naked! Uh! I am soooo jealous! I have already seen the New Kids, but I had never seen the Backstreet Boys. Not even in my wildest dreams. I cannot even tell you how much I was in love, LOVE, with Nick Carter. And seeing BSB sing and dance, it brought so many memories back. Enough memories that I even cried a little. There, I said it! I cried at the concert. I didn't let anyone see me though!

Here are a few of my favorite pictures!! Now, keep in mind. We were pretty "nose bleed". But I still loved our seats!

We waited...
and waited...
and waitd some more...

FINALLY!!

There's my main man!! 2nd love of my life! (Dean is ALWAYS 1st!)

Here they are.... they are so wonderful!!

And I should probably join this site...

Oh, Nick Carter called me after the concert, by the way. Said he heard me screaming. Thanked me for chanting his name, too. Apparently, he really appreciates that. I knew it!
